Ian Williams (GBR) and his Pindar by Manuport Logistics team, Gerard Mitchell, Richard Sydenham, and Jon Gundersen, made history by winning a record-breaking ninth Match Racing World Championship title at the 2025 World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) Final in Shenzhen. In a tense, first-to-two-points final, Williams defeated Sweden’s Oscar Engström 2–0, successfully defending his title for the third consecutive year.

Ian Williams, captain of the SSL Team Great Britain, was the first British sailor to win the Match Racing World Championship. He is also widely recognised on the professional big-boat circuit as an accomplished tactician, with victories across many different classes.
SSL Team Great Britain finished the SSL Gold competition at the semi-final stage, securing third place in Fleet One. The team has already qualified by ranking for the 2026 SSL Gold Cup in Rio de Janeiro.
