Frederik started in the Optimist dinghy at the age of 9. Since then he has sailed a great number of dinghys like Europe class, ILCA, 420, and afterwards in Yngling, Dragon, H-boat and DS37.
in 2015 Frederik began racing the H-boat, and became the youngest world champion in the class in 2011, being only 15 years old.
Ever since, Frederik has been competing in the H-Boat class and became world champion for the 10th time in 2023.
